[The very first thing that came to his mind was "What's with that honorfic!?" and then second one was "Is she asking me out on a date? Has fate finally smiled upon me?!" But considering how urgent this message sounded quickly smashed his hope...!]
Did I do something wrong again? Wonder what's up...
[Won't stop him from dressing casually for the occasion, though. When tomorrow arrives, he'll be heading down to the sight of his not!date with destiny.]
[SHE KNEW SHE SHOULD HAVE SAID 'It's not a date!' AND HE KNOWS SHE'S MARRIED AND HAS A KID!!
Although her message sounds pretty urgent and serious, when he enters the tea shop she'll be sitting near a window in her own casual clothes. She's nursing a steaming cup in the cozy room and looking out that window at the cold weather, idly sipping.
A bell jingles once he enters and she looks up with mild curiosity. Upon spotting Nagi, she even smiles at him a little with an empty seat in front of her.]
YES THEY'LL BE NEEDED TO FIGHT THE NEXT FEW ARC VILLAINS
[Now this would've been the perfect set-up for a magazine cover. For a split second, Nagi had to wonder if there was a cameraman lurking around and taking pictures of Aki. He even glances around to make sure that he didn't see any suspicious looking figures. (Or see someone he knew to turn this into a big misunderstanding.)
Whenever he was sure that the coast was clear, he'll make his way to his seat and calmly sits down with his hands tucked underneath his chin. She's smiling, but he's staring at her in a rather deadpan fashion.]
Otoutojisan, huh...? [What has this family tree become!?]
WELL HER TRUST ARC DOES NEED A VILLAIN SO THEY CAN ~BOND~
[The sad thing is if there was a cameraman or paparazzi or someone taking screenshots it wouldn't be the first time. Luckily she isn't an idol here so they're both safe. And she just wonders what the hell he's doing, looking around.
Because of his staring she darts her eyes to the side uncomfortably, fighting the urge to look over her shoulder or slide out of the seat and leave. It's a complete contrast from her being so irritated at him the last time they spoke and getting in his face. She better say hi, it's weird to just sit here while he stares.
But not the first time it's happened to her.
Instead she sputters a bit into her cup at his unexpected greeting. One second please, she needs a moment to breathe air instead of liquid again and clean up the bit of tea from her chin.]
It's just a joke. Rather, punishment for what you said to Sei-chan before. I can think of something else if you don't like it.
[The most hilarious part of it was that he wasn't giving her the usual bedroom eyes or lustful gaze. Though his expression shifts to a more amused one since he couldn't really deal with the atmosphere feeling so serious for long. And even he had to admit that it was weird with her not being annoyed at him.
Well, he'd quietly cherish those moments whenever they came about. And those moments when she was "cutely angry" and not "I AM THE COLD STEEL angry".]
Hmhm... There's no need for that. [He did like jokes, so he could roll with it.] Besides, I've got plenty of other nicknames you can call me, but that'll probably get some tea thrown in my face.
[And if that eventually happened, he hoped that the tea was cooled down.]
So what does the beautiful ojouneesan want to scold me for this time? I think I've been on decent behavior as of late.
[That's probably why she's not glaring at him and being all sword-like. He looked casual and like someone she can have a pleasant conversation with instead of tell to take off Kamen H masks and not call her daughter a future bride and want to punch or literally step on his toes again.
She nods, still looking composed. Glad he's actually learning. Even if he DID list off those names she would probably just sigh and bury her face in her hands. She avoided guys like this. She wanted nothing to do with them, yet here she is.
She's definitely the masochist here. Her teacup is set in its saucer with a gentle 'clink'.]
Otoutojisan, it is.
[Finally, a smile flickers to life on her face again though it's partly wry since he has his own weird honorific for her.]
Before that, I want to say thank you for coming. We didn't really part ways on good terms last we met. [She holds up a hand] But I promise there won't be any more scolding if you continue with your behavior as it is.
[It's decent. For Nagi.]
Would you like anything to drink? We are at a tea shop. [She's putting that honorific to work.]

WHEN THERE'S SOMETHING WEIRD / IN HER PANTY DRAWER / WHO'S SHE GONNA CALL?
Right, right. Somehow... You remind me of a certain big-breasted teacher back home who scolds me a lot. I guess I can't escape you types, no matter where I go.
[He had to seriously wonder about what kind of upbringing she had before braving Sword Art Online. For a moment, Nagi pauses in thought as he realizes that his experiences with classy tea were rather limited. It might have been easier to pretend he knew what he was picking or suggest something like soda... But he'd end up looking dumb on both ends of the septum.]
Um... What would you suggest to try? I can't say I'm very tea savvy.
[And he didn't want to turn down her offer either. That would've been rude.]
NEVERMIND. Hopefully he's not saying it because she's big breasted and that's why he's reminded. Sure, they're bigger than one would think because of the conservative clothes she wears (ask Jin, but don't). LET'S MOVE ON. SHE SHOULDN'T BE THE ONE WITH PERVY THOUGHTS HERE.]
W-Well! They have things other than tea! You need water to make the tea, so there's that. Hot water with lemon is also a choice. A lot of people enjoy green tea and I heard it also helps with metabolism. [She doesn't know what he likes either but there's something to-]
[Sadly, Nagi could remember girls through their breasts if he couldn't remember their names sometimes. But that's neither here nor there... He'll start some good willed laughing whenever she starts getting flustered, though.]
Heh! If the stars were aligned between us differently, then I'd show you how fit I really am. [Or you could just challenge him to some sparring too. He ain't ripped, but athletic enough to keep up with the strongest girls in the world. And get beaten up by them all day every day... It's no wonder he's packing some crazy endurance.]
Hmhm... It's true. A certain ninja told me about green tea being good for you. [Levi drunk it a lot from what remembered.] I'll think I'll go with that on the menu.
[His laughing embarrasses her but she's actually secretly glad for it too.]
I wo-!
[And then she gets really red about stars aligning and seeing how fit he is. At first she presses her hands to the table, stands up halfway with her mouth open. But she sits back in her seat slowly and pinches the bridge of her nose, sighing. Fighting the urge to laugh incredulously. One step at a time. At least she isn't flying off the handle now. She supposed... maybe... in another universe, it could be possible. In another world. Maybe in that other place he wasn't a blatant pervert.
Endurance.
Or maybe he's just too honest, now that she thinks about it. Not perverted. He had some shame or he wouldn't blush. There was such a thing now that she's met this person. Either way once he makes his decision, she lowers her hand and attempts a smile.]
Alright. It sounds like Ninja-san knows a thing or two about tea.
[LALALA She calls someone over and orders the green tea for Nagi pls thank you.
And now she looks shy, drumming her fingers a little on her cup.]
I suppose I should get to the heart of the matter now. I wouldn't want to take up your entire evening. [CLEARS HER THROAT.]
I don't think I've been a very good friend or sister figure to you. [Telling him about SAO that (at its core despite what she gained) was a horrible situation and should be left behind and not placed on anyone else's shoulders, that somehow he felt that he had to watch out for Sei if there was ever a time when she and Jin weren't here, and saying she wanted to help Nagi with finding Hijiri and not doing anything since.
She's good with the scolding, she knows, but anything else... ?]
I've burdened you with too much without giving anything back so... I've decided. [DETERMINED FACE] Right now, we're going to figure out how to save Hijiri-san. So when the time comes, you'll be prepared even if I'm not here.
HE COOKED HIM A BIG MEAL. THEN TOLD HIM ABOUT A LEGENDARY ITEM SOMEWHERE
[Maybe in that other world... She might have been a Trinity Seven member or he might have been a online gamer like she was. Or they might have been two people living normal lives until they finally met.
After hearing about the talk about "Akasha" and how an infinite number of universes existed... The two of them being something special really wouldn't had been impossible. If he could, Nagi would've given his alternate universe self a pat on the back. But that was neither here nor there.
The important thing was that she was willing to help him save Hijiri. Above anything else, that was always the biggest priority in Nagi's mind. He can't help and fire off a determined face of his own. He'd risk anything and everything for Hijiri's sake.]
Hoh? I was expecting a scolding... But now I've heard something interesting! You'll seriously help me save her? [There's a pause as he knew one way. Nagi was willing to accept all the help that he could get.]
If you really wanna help me out, then you can help me train. You're fast with weapons, aren't you? If I'm going to be fighting more and more ridiculous opponents in the future, then I have to become even more ridiculous than the rest of them!!
[He said he had decent behavior lately. While she hasn't seen him since the run-in with Sei, she hadn't heard anything about a pervert either. That was usually the tip-off to Nagi, more often than not.
Unless he did something that merited scolding and she didn't hear about it.
She looks a little shocked and almost stands up out of her seat again.]
Wh- Ehhh?! Of course I'm serious! She's in trouble so we have to help her!
[Whether they liked it or not, they were friends somehow. And she made a promise. They're pseudo brother and sister. Did he not believe her when she said she would? He had every reason to, she supposes since it's been a while for anything to be done about it. She was doing something about it now though so that has to count for something. She's trying to be a better friend, a better pseudo-sister.
Train? How did he know she was fast? Sure she could pull out a plastic knife or an incense stick like nobody's business but should that mean she was fast with anything else? It's kind of amazing, honestly, that he can come to that conclusion. If anyone was more ridiculous than the rest of them it's Jin. Maybe she can use him as an example.
Her hand cups her chin.]
Mmmn, it's true my nickname was «The Flash». If that's what you want... that means I have to get my sword back. [A smile and she picks up her teacup, happy to have a plan now.]
Well, I was planning to do that anyway. It will be interesting to see if I can still use all my «Sword Skills» here, too.
[Surprisingly, he could be a logical and rational thinker when he didn't have girls on the brain. Considering that he's seen her movements before and how unreal they were... He could size up that she was almost as fast as Levi. Though it'd be hard to say unless he saw them fighting together.
He's thrown punches towards Jin before to see that he wasn't very normal either. But some day Nagi land a blow on him, though... At least to show that he's making a little progress. And it'd actually be cathartic in a way. Whenever she mentions that she has a sword, Nagi suddenly goes sparkly eyed.]
Hoh hoh hoh-! That sounds pretty heroic! [There could've been a pervy joke to spare there, but that's not even on his mind right now. Training up to save Hijiri was much more important.] I still need to get one of my Grimoires back from that Witch. But I can still tackle some of the tougher jobs now.
By the way... Did I mention that I've got a sword too? I managed to grab it while I was dungeon crawling during a little adventure with my friends.
[And what an adventure that ended out to be! He still hasn't fully mastered using Judecca, though. Nagi still had to find out how to make it properly transform into a big-breasted girl for personal eyecandy.]
[To be as fast as a ninja is QUITE an honor. But if she knew he was throwing punches at Jin, he'd probably get one from her. So much for anything being cathartic.]
N-No, I don't know about heroic...
[She smiles nervously, hunching her shoulders a little. Thank goodness no pervy jokes. He really was on decent behavior for now. Besides, he's caught her attention with a New Thing: Grimoires.
And having swords. That comes first.]
Eh? Really? You didn't! You even went dungeon crawling...
[Now she goes a bit bright-eyed. Ever since SAO, she's turned into a bit of a sword nut. She had shown Kirito all her favorite brands of weapons and types before when she was nervously filling the air with senseless chatter.]
Could I see it? What kind is it? Just a straight sword?
[He sounds like Jin maybe he has his preference too. But Nagi please do not make a pervy joke istfg. Personal eyecandy is enough.]
Whenever I get it back, you can check it out. It can even talk, you know!
[He could create guns and he had a magic sword underneath his belt. He was just getting stronger and stronger as time grew by... Though even that was proving to have some consequences on him.]
Yeah, that's right. It looks dark and gloomy, but pretty cool looking! Judecca is a little more complicated than your average blade. It's actually a demonic sword that's capable of destroying the world! [Just casually putting that out there.] Though I don't want to do something frivolous as that. I just want to use it to protect those important to me.
[And he'll clear his throat on that sentimental note.]
But thanks to my sword's power, I can amplify a bunch of spells and use four of them at once. I'm not a master swordsmen... But I can close the gap through magic.
[A talking sword? She looks surprised and then a little dubious. She does want to see it though so she might be able to see for herself in the end.
Most dungeons were pretty dark and gloomy, not swords. The field bosses were the only breaks they got from mapping out locations for drops, spawns, and bosses in dank places. Aki enjoyed those fields a little more even when she didn't enjoy much in SAO at all. How can a sword be dark and gloomy? She'll have to find that out too.
Well. It's name was Judecca...
She nods a bit, following along. A brief smile of approval at saying he wants to protect instead of destroy.]
When you asked about magic before, I said it wasn't really available in SAO but it's common in a lot of MMORPG games. It's not so unbelievable that you should be able to do the opposite. I would try applying your magic to a sword to increase the DPS, too.
[Except this is real life and not a game. She leans back in her chair a little, looking at the ceiling. Two years of talking like that, it was easy to slip back into. Too easy, probably.]
Though if it's a demon sword, that already sounds like it has a high damage output. I think Jin-kun's sword was a boss drop from a demon class and it was one of the strongest out there without any sort of extra buff.
Just what sort of people are out there for you to face?
Edited (reading comprehension is no) 2014-12-05 06:09 (UTC)
[Some of that practically when over his head as he gamed, but he didn't devote his entire life to doing it. Hijiri wouldn't had permitted it if he became a giant NEET who simply played games all day and every day.
Whenever she mention how Jin gotten his sword, Nagi couldn't help and raise his eyebrow in slight interest as he sips his tea. Claiming Judecca wasn't something that any normal mage could do without getting devolved by its power. There was a moment where it almost happened to Nagi, but his friends were around to help him get a little stronger to use it properly.]
In my world... Most of the enemies I've fought were either monsters or Magic King Candidates. There was even a time whenever I fought an actual Magic King. And that was an experience that I won't ever forget.
[And it was a wake-up call for him. All things considered... Nagi could've become exactly like his senpai if things went wrong. Though as long as he has his friends around to keep him in check, then he'd be okay. But even now, it was still a scary fact that there were changes going on in his body.]
... Using magic has a lot of benefits, but there's plenty of drawbacks to go along with it. If a mage loses control of their magic, then they'll become a monster. And as for me... Well, I'll become something much worst if that happens.
[He tried not to think about it too often... But Nagi really wanted to keep his humanity in tact instead of becoming a mindless creature of destruction. That's something he didn't want her, Jin, Sei or anyone to see.]
Nagi must be one of them since he wanted to be the Magic King. A competition? While a lot of their conversations usually dissolved into her scolding him for something or other, there were still times it was more than that. One sticks out where there was a time when he proclaimed he was going to be that king.
Only he's otoutojisan now.
She wonders why he won't forget the experience. She wonders what could be worse than a monster. NOT A SUPER PERVERT?? She wonders how magic would turn him into one and if he should just not use it if there was such a huge risk. There's a lot of questions he's raising but that one thing in particular stands out.
If he already has a sword that could destroy the world, why use magic if it was so dangerous? In SAO, Aki always came up with strategies that had the highest probability of success with no casualties. Avoiding player deaths was what she wanted even more than beating a boss.
And so.]
As long as I'm around, I won't let that happen.
[Her fingers lace on top of the table and she presses her mouth to her hands, keeping her eyes on him.]
For now, let's focus on improving your sword skills. I'm much more used to just giving out orders rather than being a teacher but... I'll do my best. It's for Hijiri-san.
[For a moment, Nagi was looking out. He had the Trinity Seven backing him regardless if he turned evil or not... But even so, he didn't want to become a person like Abyss Trinity. He already declared that he wouldn't change, but considering how the power of magic was unpredictable...
He was afraid of not keeping his promise to Lilith and the others. He looks into his right hand just for a second as if he's recalling a painful memory, shuts his eyes, then...
"As long as I'm around, I won't let that happen."
Those words were enough to snap him out of it. That's right... As long as he had strong people like Aki around to slap him silly if he ever went crazy, then he would be okay. After all, he wasn't able to get through all of his challenges all by himself. It was his friends that gave him the power to move forward...
That was the sole thing that set him apart from the Magic King of the alternate world. He relied on his own strength far too much while Nagi was able obtain a little bit of strength from everyone and win. Some might have called it cowardly or clingy, but that's how he as the future Magic King of his world would end up doing things. In response, he'll open his eyes a little with a warm expression on his face and nods slowly. And he tightens his right hand into a fist as he's quietly promising himself to never forget this warmth.]
Mm... I really am grateful for your help. I'll go through whatever hellish training you've got.
[It couldn't be as bad as what Mira and Akio had put him through!]
[Aki can do plenty of the slapping silly. Not just for going crazy either. But she can do the watching out for him, the training, and everything else along with it.
Being a friend.
His expression isn't one she's really seen before. She looks on, curious by it. Even so it makes her happy, happy that he's satisfied with that, and that he's nodding in agreement. It's not the first time someone has felt a care and warmth from Asuna, from her bright soul that guides others to path full of light. No little brother oji-san that she knows was going to turn into a monster while she was here. She promises.]
H-Hellish? No...
[She stares at him in surprise and then raises an eyebrow.]
What sort of training did you go through to feel compelled to say something like that?
Oh, that? I had to fight a sexy evil mage once and considering that we didn't have time for me to do the standard training arc...
[It required dragging out some of the potential that Nagi already had within him. It looked like a lot of his training required him doing some fast level grinding depending on the situation at hand. A similar incident happened whenever he had to get a bit stronger in order to obtain Judecca.]
I had to get the crap beaten out of me to learn a proper spell. What didn't kill me ended up making me loads stronger.
Why do you always have to add unnecessary adjectives to everything... ?
[SEXY?? WELL, WHATEVER. Not a big deal!! More importantly, there's some interesting (and scary) things he said just now. And what's with saying he had a training 'arc'? Did he consider himself part of a manga? Actually, he's said things like that before.
Nagi was... pretty interesting in that way. Maybe that's why she didn't avoid him despite his perverseness.]
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Isn't that how it always is?
[She stares down into her tea with a small smile, as if lost in memories or thoughts or just a faraway place. Then she suddenly lifts her head again, cheerful.]
I won't beat you up. Like I said, I'm probably rusty with my sword anyway. Ah, as long as you keep up with your decent behavior. Mmmn, it has been pleasant talking with you about things.
TIMESKIP TO TOMORROW
Did I do something wrong again? Wonder what's up...
[Won't stop him from dressing casually for the occasion, though. When tomorrow arrives, he'll be heading down to the sight of his not!date with destiny.]
BUT DO THEY GET POWERUPS FROM THIS TIMESKIP

By the way... Did I mention that I've got a sword too? I managed to grab it while I was dungeon crawling during a little adventure with my friends.
[And what an adventure that ended out to be! He still hasn't fully mastered using Judecca, though. Nagi still had to find out how to make it properly transform into a big-breasted girl for personal eyecandy.]

[She knows what monsters are but the latter?

What sort of training did you go through to feel compelled to say something like that?
no subject
[It required dragging out some of the potential that Nagi already had within him. It looked like a lot of his training required him doing some fast level grinding depending on the situation at hand. A similar incident happened whenever he had to get a bit stronger in order to obtain Judecca.]
I had to get the crap beaten out of me to learn a proper spell. What didn't kill me ended up making me loads stronger.
1/2
